I would love to hear from you. Eventually, I will build a page to host a forum, but I can't figure out how to set it up. I'm sure my teenage son will help me, but for now, you can email me at:

I appreciate your thoughts on Judas. I have often wrestled myself with Judas’ choice. I don’t think it was a plan between Jesus and Judas, but at the same time, didn’t necessarily think that Judas was not included in the forgiven. Obviously, he would have been remorseful to return the money and take such a drastic measure. Of course, your critics are going to be those who believe that suicide is an unforgiveable sin.

My mother always had a saying, which I do not in anyway believe to be biblical, but possibly wise anyway…God looks out for children and crazy people. The meaning behind this is that we come to times in our lives when we are not in our right minds whether temporarily due to our circumstances or on a more long term basis due to imbalances in the brain and body. I think someone who is distraught enough with their life to leave the world falls in this category.

At our Holy Week lunch yesterday, one of the other pastors made remarks about Judas as well that I thought was interesting. He said that Judas called Jesus “Rabbi” not Lord as did the other disciples. It was a term of respect, but not one of recognition of who Jesus really was/is. He simply didn’t get it, even after following Jesus for three years. I thought that was an interesting observation as well.

Of course, the resistance to Jesus as Messiah by those of his time had something to do with his not being what was expected. Not the mighty warrior-king like David. We are and have been for centuries, exactly the same, and yet we call ourselves Christians. We think Jesus is no longer the example of servant leadership but of might and right (Thanks Constantine.)
